Helping Families, and Communities Build Safer, Healthier Futures
What is “Lead Free Futures”?
We are a nonprofit organization founded in Anchorage, Alaska, dedicated to helping people understand where lead risks still exist, understanding the dangers posed, and the simple steps they can take to protect themselves, their families, and their communities.
Why Do We Matter?
Many people assume lead poisoning is a problem of the past. While tremendous progress has been made, lead can still be found in products, environments, and activities that many of us encounter every day.
The good news is that awareness works.
Small actions, like learning where lead is found, making informed choices, and sharing information with others, can significantly reduce your own exposure and help protect future generations!
What Does This Mean for You?
You don't need to become an expert overnight.
Our goal is to provide clear, practical information that helps you answer four important questions:
• Where does lead exposure happen today?
• How can it affect individuals and families?
• What risks should I be aware of?
• What simple steps can I take to reduce those risks?
Every person who learns about lead prevention becomes part of the solution. Together, small actions can create safer homes, healthier communities, and lead-free futures.
What’s in The Dust?
Anchorage, is the notorious “dust bowl”
We are on a mission to raise awareness of the dangerous particles we breathe every day. Ever look around and see how dusty it gets?
